Why It Is Important For Businesses To Choose The Right Packaging Material?

Customers always judge your products through their packaging. A good packaging starts with choosing the right material. Every product requires a different material for its packaging. To fulfill this need, we offer different materials for your custom box, such as…

Cardboard – Affordable, Recyclable, and Versatile

Cardboard boxes are being used extensively for packaging due to several advantages. Many businesses prefer cardboard because it supports a variety of printing options, allowing for customization that enhances brand visibility. Additionally, cardboard is ideal for various types of finishing and add-ons such as die-cuts and windows, making it versatile for different packaging needs.

Moreover, cardboard is quite affordable and gives products an elegant look, which is why many businesses opt for custom boxes made from this material. An interesting aspect that some businesses may not be aware of is that cardboard can be recycled later, promoting sustainability. Thus, if you previously packaged your products in plastic containers, switching to cardboard packaging can serve as a great alternative to plastic. This custom box material is suitable for businesses who prefer to buy affordable packaging.

Cardboard comes in different types, each with its own price and characteristics, which can cater to various business needs.

      • Single Face Board: Technically, it consists of a fluted sheet glued to one liner, ideal for customized mailing boxes or applications requiring a printed surface on one side.
      • Single Wall Board: Technically, it features one layer of fluting between two liners, suitable for lightweight packaging needs where cost-effectiveness and basic protection are required.
      • Double Wall Board: Technically, it includes two layers of fluting between three liners, recommended for heavier items needing extra strength and protection during shipping.
      • Triple Wall Board: Technically, it comprises three layers of fluting between four liners, best for extremely heavy or fragile items requiring maximum protection and durability.
      • Bleached Corrugated: Technically, it is made from bleached pulp, offering a cleaner appearance; ideal for packaging where aesthetics and hygiene are crucial.
      • Kraft Corrugated: Technically, it is made from natural, unbleached pulp, suitable for eco-friendly packaging solutions where sustainability and cost are key considerations.

Kraft – Eco-Friendly, Affordable, Biodegradable, and Recyclable

The world is rapidly changing, and alongside it, customer buying preferences are evolving. Today’s consumers are increasingly conscious of their choices and are reluctant to associate with brands that do not prioritize sustainability. Some customers now exclusively shop from brands that promote sustainable practices. This shift has prompted global brands to transition towards sustainable packaging solutions. Businesses that fail to adapt to these changes risk becoming obsolete.

To meet this demand, we offer eco-friendly boxes made from kraft material, which is a biodegradable option derived from wood pulp. Kraft paper is recognized for its sustainability and can be recycled after use. Businesses that wish to communicate their commitment to sustainable practices often utilize custom kraft paper boxes. This custom box material is suitable for businesses who prefer to buy eco-friendly packaging

There are two main types of kraft paper used for packaging: bleached kraft paper and unbleached kraft paper.

      • Bleached Kraft Paper: Available in various colors such as white and yellow, this type undergoes a bleaching process to achieve its color. While some may mistakenly believe that bleached kraft paper is not eco-friendly, this is incorrect; it remains an environmentally friendly option. However, it is generally less durable than unbleached kraft paper.
      • Unbleached Kraft Paper: This type retains its natural brown color, making it easily recognizable as kraft packaging. It is favored by many businesses for its durability and straightforward appearance.

Corrugated – Durable, Impact Resistant, Eco-Friendly, and Cost Effective

A corrugated box is a packaging container made from three layers of material: two flat outer liners and an inner layer of fluted medium, which provides strength, cushioning, and durability for transporting goods.

Corrugated boxes are primarily used by businesses that need to ship their products. As you may know, corrugated material is quite durable and protects your products during shipping. If you also sell products online, corrugated boxes are a recommended option for you. You can create various packaging styles using corrugated boxes, such as mailer boxes, tuck boxes, two-piece boxes, and more. This custom box material is suitable for businesses who prefer to buy durable packaging. Corrugated packaging boxes come with different board types, which we have outlined below.

Just as corrugated boards come in different types, similarly, corrugated materials also have different flutes, which we have mentioned below.

      • A-Flute: This is the thickest flute, about 1/4 inch, providing excellent cushioning for fragile items and sturdiness for heavier items. Use it when you need the greatest cushioning properties for fragile products, as it offers excellent stiffness and short column crush resistance.
      • B-Flute: Measuring approximately 1/8 inch thick, B-Flute provides crush and puncture resistance and a good printing surface. It is ideal for inner packaging components and printing logos or graphics directly onto the cardboard.
      • C-Flute: Approximately 11/64 inches thick, C-Flute is a versatile option for shipping boxes due to its crush resistance, stacking strength, and acceptable printing properties. Consider it for packaging glass, dairy, and furniture products.
      • E-Flute: This is a thin flute, around 1/16 inch in thickness, that helps reduce storage space and costs and is often used for consumer goods packaging. It is the thinnest of the shipping-appropriate flutes, it makes an excellent printing surface and has a nice overall presentation.
      • F-Flute: The thinnest available, at about 1/32 inch, F-Flute is ideal for stiff packaging. It’s inappropriate for shipping or eCommerce, but it can be interesting for certain primary packaging applications.

Rigid – Versatility, Structural Integrity, Durability, and Luxurious Appeal

If you sell premium products and your target audience is the upper middle class and elite class, you likely know that this demographic prefers products that come in premium packaging. There are different types of rigid board such as:

      • Greyboard
      • Solid Board
      • Mount Board
      • MediumDensity Fiberboard

By packaging your products in these boxes made from these packaging materials, you can create a premium look that transforms ordinary products into luxury items. Additionally, rigid packaging with inserts enhances the presentation of your products, allowing you to showcase them elegantly to your customers. This custom box material is suitable for businesses who prefer to buy luxury packaging

Metalized Cardboard – Moisture Resistant, Shiny, and Recyclable

If you need durable custom packaging for your products that looks luxurious like rigid boxes but is also affordable, you should choose metalized stock. We have this material available in various metallic finishes such as gold, silver, holographic, and other foiling options, giving you complete freedom to choose what you desire. With this material, we create metalized product boxes that not only protect your products but also set a remarkable standard in presentation. So, which custom packaging material have you decided to go for your products?
